Donate to the Archives

If you have Hadassah items you'd like to donate to the archives, please check the following list to see if it is something we are actively collecting:

  1. Most things from before 1970
  2. Artifacts and memorabilia no longer of use to a chapter, region, or individual member:
    • items sold as fundraising tools, and marked with "Hadassah"
    • awards given to chapters for reaching membership or fundraising goals
    • awards, pins, or other devices given to members for specific donations
  3. Files or printed materials no longer needed by your chapter or region, which help document the work of the unit.
  4. Fragile older (especially before c1950) material that is in danger of loss or damage, including older material that turns up in unexpected places. This includes printed material issued by chapters and regions:
    • Newsletters
    • Event programs - from donor luncheons, Jewish education programs, Myrtle Wreath events, and other fundraising or membership activities
    • Official histories of the chapter or region
    • Mailings
    • Board minutes are also of permanent value and should be saved or sent to the archives.
  5. Photographs of chapter and region events, if well labeled with dates, people, and event.
  6. Albums and scrapbooks
  7. If your chapter or region office is moving and you need to eliminate a lot of older material, contact us first to help you figure out what is valuable and should be sent to the archives. We might be able to arrange a site visit by someone on the archives staff, to help go through the material, if arrangements for travel are within our budget.
  8. If you find out that an older member, or the daughter of an older member, has early chapter photographs, printed material, scrapbooks, or chapter history, please contact us.
  9. EBay - there are many Hadassah items listed on EBay, but our budget is very limited. If you see a Hadassah item of interest, or if you'd be interested in purchasing something for the archives that we learn is on EBay (or elsewhere), please let us know.

We are also seeking archival copies of the following items:

Hadassah Magazine

  • 1992: February, March, April, August/September, November
  • 1993: January, February, August/September, November
  • 1994: January, February, November

If you have one of these items and would like to donate it to the archives, please contact the archivist. Thank you for your contribution.
