Urge your elected officials to speak out and take action to address anti-Semitism.

New: Thank Congress for Continuing Support for Israel

Israel once again finds itself in a time of crisis. Urge Congress to approve additional Iron Dome funding and pass pending resolutions in support of Israel.

New: Urge White House to Continue Support for Israel

Israel once again finds itself in a time of crisis. Urge the White House to continue standing unequivocally for Israel’s right to defend itself against all threats that endanger the safety and security of Israeli citizens.

New: Advocate for Gender Equity in Medical Research

Medical research, diagnostic tools, and treatments are frequently based on male physiology – leading to misdiagnosis and compromised health care for women. Urge your Representatives to cosponsor the Research for All Act and encourage all elected officials to prioritize gender equity in medical research.

Preventive health promotes wellness, disease prevention, early detection – empowering women and men with knowledge to make appropriate and informed medical decisions for themselves and their families. Urge your Representatives to cosponsor the Women's Preventive Health Awareness Campaign.

New: Expand Access to Affordable Child Care

A lack of access to quality, affordable child care is a major barrier to work-life balance and financial stability for women and families. Urge Congress to support new federal funding and tax credits for affordable child care.

Updated: Continue Momentum to Address Human Trafficking Epidemic

On July 24, the House of Representatives passed a new slate of sex trafficking legislation. Urge the Senate to continue this momentum and join Hadassah in supporting the passage of legislation that supports victims of both sex and labor trafficking, and penalizes all those profiting from the trafficking enterprise.

Pass the International Violence Against Women Act

In response to the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, the International Violence Against Women Act was reintroduced in the Senate. Urge Congress to support this legislation and send a strong statement that ending violence against women and girls is a top American priority.

Updated: Support LGBT Employment Non-Discrimination Act

On July 21, President Obama signed an executive order barring discrimination by federal contractors on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. However, this is only a first step. Urge your Representatives to support the Employment Non-Discrimination Act!

  • Hadassah Deeply Concerned by Act of Violence against Jewish Student at Temple University
  • Hadassah expresses horror at learning of an act of violence against a Jewish student at Temple University last week. Hadassah deplores all forms of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and violence against any person based on their race, ethnicity, religion, color, sexual orientation, gender, national origin or disability. We join with the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, of which Hadassah is a member, in calling for civility and security on college campuses in light of increased global anti-Semitism.
  • Urge Congress to Affirm Support for Israel
  • Israel once again finds itself in a time of crisis, forced to take military action to defend its citizens from indiscriminate rocket and mortar fire. American support and strategic partnerships are instrumental to securing Israel’s safety. In recent days over 500 rockets have been launched at Israel from Gaza, and over 75 missiles headed for populated areas were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
  • Hadassah Responds to Presbyterian Church Divestment Decision
  • Hadassah joins the Jewish Council for Public Affairs and the Israel Action Network in expressing outrage, disappointment and sadness over the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) decision to divest from three American companies because of their sales to the government of Israel.   • Advocate for Return of Kidnapped Israeli Teens
  • On Thursday, June 12, three Israeli students—Naftali Frankel (16), Gilad Shaar (16), and Eyal Yifrach (19)—were abducted on their way home from religious school in the West Bank. Naftali Frankel also has dual Israeli/American citizenship.
  • Hadassah Congratulates Israeli President-Elect Reuven Rivlin
  • Hadassah congratulates Israeli President-elect Reuven Rivlin on his election as the 10th President of Israel. Rivlin, a member of the Likud party, has been a Member of the Knesset (MK) since 1988 and served twice as Speaker of the Knesset. He also served as the Minister of Communications from 2001-2003. Rivlin, a lawyer by training, was also director and chairman of the Beitar Jerusalem Sports Association and chairman of the Institute for Occupational Safety and Hygiene.
