Medical research, diagnostic tools, and treatments are frequently based on male physiology – leading to misdiagnosis and compromised health care for women. Urge your Representatives to cosponsor the Research for All Act and encourage all elected officials to prioritize gender equity in medical research.

On May 20, the House of Representatives passed a slate of sex trafficking legislation. Urge the Senate to continue this momentum and join Hadassah in supporting the passage of legislation that supports victims of both sex and labor trafficking, and penalizes all those profiting from the trafficking enterprise.

Pass the International Violence Against Women Act

In response to the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, the International Violence Against Women Act was reintroduced in the Senate. Urge Congress to support this legislation and send a strong statement that ending violence against women and girls is a top American priority.

  • Israel once again finds itself in a time of crisis, forced to take military action to defend its citizens from indiscriminate rocket and mortar fire. American support and strategic partnerships are instrumental to securing Israel’s safety. In recent days over 500 rockets have been launched at Israel from Gaza, and over 75 missiles headed for populated areas were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
  • Hadassah Responds to Presbyterian Church Divestment Decision
  • Hadassah joins the Jewish Council for Public Affairs and the Israel Action Network in expressing outrage, disappointment and sadness over the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) decision to divest from three American companies because of their sales to the government of Israel.   • On Thursday, June 12, three Israeli students—Naftali Frankel (16), Gilad Shaar (16), and Eyal Yifrach (19)—were abducted on their way home from religious school in the West Bank. Naftali Frankel also has dual Israeli/American citizenship.
  • Hadassah Congratulates Israeli President-Elect Reuven Rivlin
  • Hadassah congratulates Israeli President-elect Reuven Rivlin on his election as the 10th President of Israel. Rivlin, a member of the Likud party, has been a Member of the Knesset (MK) since 1988 and served twice as Speaker of the Knesset. He also served as the Minister of Communications from 2001-2003. Rivlin, a lawyer by training, was also director and chairman of the Beitar Jerusalem Sports Association and chairman of the Institute for Occupational Safety and Hygiene.
  • Hadassah Expresses Disappointment over Continued Calls for Israel Boycotts
  • Today and earlier this week, the film American Revolutionary: the Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs was screened at a Tel Aviv Film Festival. On May 12, activist Grace Lee Boggs, actor Danny Glover, and several others featured in the film released a statement in support of boycotting Israel and in opposition to the film’s inclusion in the festival.
