Project Manager, Development Communications

Location: New York
Position Code: 8021

The Project manager will work closely with Development’s staff and Volunteer Leadership, as well as across Divisions, to ensure that the implementation and conclusion of each assigned project is on schedule. Projects will include a range of communication vehicles that support Major Gift fundraising, Grassroots fundraising, Annual Giving and Corporations and Foundations.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Manage the planning and implementation of assigned projects, including but not limited to,

·      Establishing timelines,

·      Developing the full scale project plan,

·      Executing meeting agendas, logistics, and notes,

·      Tracking project deliverables and data collection using appropriate tools,

·      Monitoring and reporting on progress to all stakeholders, and

·      Assisting with defining project scope, goals, deliverable, and resource requirements. 


Serves as project point person, collaborating with a team of key staff, volunteers, consultants, and vendors as needed/required, with the initial project being Hadassah’s upcoming capital campaign. 

Evaluates the project plans by S.M.A.R.T. goals (Specific, measurable, actionable, reasonable and timely) in terms of R.O.I. 


Assists with the content and strategic direction for Development’s donor communication vehicles including, but not limited to:

·      Campaign talking points and action memos.

·      Case statements.

·      Campaign Q& A and fact sheets.

·      Informational and promotional brochures (print and electronic).

·      Stewardship communications.

·      Event-specific materials.

·      Internal/external presentations. 

Works directly with in-house designers and/or consultants (including print and lettershop vendors) on implementing effective donor communication vehicles as it relates to assigned projects. Reviews, fact-checks and proofs their work making cuts/additions/modifications. As needed, coordinates the print production process for these printed materials. 

Assists with conceptualizing Development’s content on the intranet and internet, periodically reviewing posted content and links for accuracy and timeliness. 

 

Assists with donor stewardship, including but not limited to:

·      Drafting donor acknowledgements/Thank you letters.

·      Tracking stewardship and recognition opportunities for campaign prospects and donors.

·      Researching and tracking of prospects and donors. 

Assists with the coordinating, organizing and supporting National Development events, including but not limited to, Mid-Winter, Convention, Summer Business Meetings, etc. 

Assists the Associate Director, Development Communications as needed. 

 

Other projects as assigned

 

Position Requirements

·      BA/BS and a minimum of two to three years relevant experience in project management or equivalent field.

·      Knowledge of project management techniques and tools

·      Prior writing or editorial responsibilities.

·      Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

·      Ability to multi-task, managing multiple concurrent projects, while meeting deadlines under pressure.

·      Key competencies include: adaptability, organizing, planning, taking notes, and problem solving

·      Excellent organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail.

·      Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

·      High computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

·      Knowledge of the Jewish community a plus.

·      Knowledge of Basecamp project management software preferred.
