Hadassah Nurses Council

Dear , Friends,

Shanah tovah! As we welcome a new year, we welcome new opportunities for growth and volunteering. And we welcome you — whether you're new to the Council — or Hadassah. We're here to help you find a direction for your passion for Hadassah, nurses and Israel. We're proud to build on Henrietta Szold's passion and vision, and the role nurses have played in advancing Hadassah's mission.

Today, our goal is — with your help — to keep the message and mission going through education, deepening our connections with our colleagues in Israel, and advocacy.

Here's what you can do right now!

  • Welcome Dr. Freda DeKeyser Ganz
This October, Dr. Freda DeKeyser Ganz steps into her new role as Acting Director of the Henrietta Szold Hadassah-Hebrew University School of Nursing. Dr. DeKeyser Ganz has served as the Head of the Doctoral Program at the School of Nursing and an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University. Her nursing expertise is in the areas of Critical Care and Palliative Care. An advocate for bringing advanced practice nursing programs to Israel and a leader in her field, she previously served as Head of the Clinical Master's Program. She is a graduate of Brandeis University (BA), Hunter College (MS), NYU (BSN) and the University of Maryland (MSN and PhD).
  • Meet Nurse Gilat Yihye, Hadassah Superstar
Read about Nurse Gilat Yihye and how she's made an impact as a Hadassah nurse in Israel, Africa, and more.
  • Be an Advocate
September is Alzheimer's Awareness Month. Take action with Hadassah for women's health equity and urge your legislators to support the CHANGE Act. It only takes a couple minutes.
  • Share the Love
2018 is the Year of the Nurse at Hadassah. This is the perfect moment to celebrate the nurses in your life with an annual Hadassah membership. For just $36 you'll be connecting them to Hadassah's initiatives around women and health.
  • Connect with Hadassah History
Get ready to be inspired by Hadassah history with these two mesmerizing books about pioneering Hadassah nurses: National Jewish Book Award-winning biography Raquela: A Woman of Israel by Ruth Gruber, about Raquela Prywesm, and Winds Over Jerusalem by Debbi Perkul, about Rae Landy.
DONATE TODAY

We look forward to hearing from you — your ideas, your questions and suggestions. We look forward to hearing your ideas to make this a productive year for Hadassah and the Nurses Councils. You can reach us at nursescouncils@hadassah.org.
