Hadassah's Influentials to Israel (a.k.a. "I to I") Program encourages elected officials, policy makers, and public opinion leaders to visit Hadassah sites in Israel in order to forge stronger bonds with Israel. It also serves to educate these "influentials" about Hadassah.

The Facts:

In December 1999, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton visited the Hadassah Medical Organization at Ein Kerem. In November 1998, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright visited Hadassah's Mt. Scopus Hospital. In recent years, an assortment of governors, members of Congress, business leaders and state legislators have visited various other Hadassah projects in Israel.

Through their firsthand experiences, these "influential" American figures learned about Hadassah's impact in the Middle East, and observed Hadassah's high-quality medical, educational, and social welfare efforts.

For those who visit for the first time, these visits help forge an unforgettable bond with the State of Israel. They also afford Hadassah the opportunity to build important relationships with the people who have an impact on American public opinion. Their invaluable influence helps advance the causes supported by Hadassah, including issues surrounding the U.S.-Israel relationship, the peace process, foreign aid, ASHA grants, and other legislative concerns of Jews throughout the world.

You can act:
  • Forge new relationships by contacting elected officials, members of the clergy, members of the media, and business leaders who either frequently travel to Israel or who are making their first trip. Encourage them to visit Hadassah while they are in Israel.

  • When you hear about a scheduled trip of "Influentials to Israel," please inform the Washington Action Office:
    Hadassah Washington Action Office
5100 Wisconsin Avenue, NW Suite 250
    Washington DC 20016-4119
    202 363-4600; 202 363-4651(Fax)
    e-mail: WashingtonOffice@hadassah.org
  • Send Hadassah's video and brochure about the Influentials to Israel program to all potential visitors.
