Hello! I hope you are having a relaxed, delightful and worthwhile summer. Before we know it, the long hot, hazy  humid, days of August  will turn a bit cooler, the High Holidays will arrive and  our MACHON year will begin anew.. I'm very  excited because this year our studies take an unusual path, rather than our normal cerebral study  of Jewish history, and current events, etc., we  will look inward and expand our spiritual health, using  Alan Morinis' work  EVERYDAY HOLINESS; THE JEWISH SPIRITUAL PATH OF MUSSAR as our text.. This work will " offer us  a "map" of the inner life... as we explore a variety of human qualities such as "patience", "gratitude", "loving kindness" ,"enthusiasm", etc. It further offers a body of practices that we can employ to transform our inner ways".

From our President

Sheila C. Glass

Dear Hadassah Sisters,

Thank God we are living in a country where the sky is the limit.

If we look long enough and hard enough, we will understand why we joined Hadassah.  It requires much more than a personal experience.  It requires a need to continue the Jewish tradition of Tzedakah Giving – Sharing – Teaching.  As Hadassah women, it is the quality of our response that helps us make other lives better.

I had no intention of falling in love with Hadassah.  I certainly didn’t expect to be affected so deeply.  I knew I wanted to go somewhere.  My party wasn’t over.  I joined because I had nothing to lose.  I give because we have everything to gain.  My mind is always busy.  Hadassah is a part of my day and my night thoughts.  I have no doubt that Hadassah is a necessity to keep Israel alive.

If we are Zionist women, as we say we are, let us do something real and practical.  Be proud of your support of Hadassah.  The Women Who Do “Care”.

Shalom - Sheila
