FAR Delegates Represent in Washington, D.C.
A delegation of six women from the Florida Atlantic Region respresented Hadassah at the Women's Health and Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C., May 15-17, 2018.
FAR Day in the District with Congresswoman Lois Frankel
On Monday, May 14th, FAR facilitated a Day in the District with Congresswoman Lois Frankel. Ten representatives from different Chapters participated in the event.
Prior to our meeting, we viewed Advocacy slides that updated Senate legislation regarding Anti-Semitism and Holocaust education.
Our agenda included National Hadassah priorities: Women's Health, Israel, Anti-Semitism and BDS, and gun violence in schools. Lois Frankel enlightened us on her participation on sponsoring legislation dealing with Israel and the BDS movement. She is also co-sponsor of gun safety bills. Her opening words were: "You cannot be silent. We must push."
Lois believes in a two-state solution for Israel. She is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee that passed a bill alotting 3.3 million dollars for Israel.

From our President
Dear Florida Atlantic Sisters -
Yes we are a Sisterhood.
And after spending July 14 thru the 17, from 8:30 am to 11pm, sitting in a very hard chair, listening and participating in Hadassah Region President meetings, there is no doubt that we are one smart, caring group of nothing less than Sisters. And you are the reason we were there.
Yes Hadassah is in the the throes of change.
Not to worry! Change is great.
Most of us made a lifetime change when we decided to move to Sunny Florida.
When I think of that, we can handle anything.
Now we have take that power and move Hadassah into this Millennium.
Our Hospital needs your unwavering support.
Start thinking about your gorgeous kids with the knowledge that most all of our Hadassah Hospital research is used right here in the U.S.
Start bragging. Start reading My Hadassah on your home computer.
I guarantee you will “swell with qvell”.
Become an active part of this amazing organization.
You are already a Life member, now make another buy-in.
Every dollar you pledge for Annual Giving is used for good things. For saving lives, research, better ways of treatment and most important, it guarantees a Hadassah presence in Israel for us and our future generations.
Okay got that off my chest.
I hope you are having a happy, healthy summer.
Please , if you haven’t already bought your ticket for our August 14 Summer Chic and Swanky fashion show at Indian Spring Country Club, it’s not to late.
And keep in mind our Anti Semitism Forum on October 7.
Yes sad, but true, it’s still out there.
But we are the Women that do and no one does it better.
See you in August
