The St. Petersburg Chapter of Hadassah is a diverse group of women who live in the greater St. Petersburg Area. With nearly 500 members and associates, we are a part of the 300,000 Hadassah volunteers around the world concerned with making our world a better place. Whether it is saving lives at the Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem; supporting a camp for our children through Young Judaea; educating ourselves about the world around us; or making friends and having fun, our chapter is unique and offers many programs and many volunteer opportunities. Hadassah St. Pete will get you connected with other women like you.

A wonderful event was held on February 11th involving the St. Petersburg, Lylah, North Pinellas and Tampa Ameet Chapters. Professor Freda DeKeyser Ganz, PhD, RN spoke about the 100 years of nursing in Israel done by Hadassah.

From our President
Now that the summer, and Hurricane Irma, is long over, we’re looking forward to some exciting fall events. Events that are in the planning stages include a Suncoast Hospice Fashion Show, an Art Talk and Art Exchange and Chanukah Party.
Remember, every member is a member of the Membership Committee! Tell friends about Hadassah and maybe they would be interested in joining. Then you and your friends can use your talents and interests in helping the chapter.
We could also use programming ideas. Tell me what would you like to learn about and we can invite a speaker.
The chapter can use other help as well:
- The bulletin needs a layout editor.
- A graphic designer would create more original flyers.
- A Facebook page master would keep our chapter’s activities current on Facebook.
Although fundraising is an important part of Hadassah, there are other opportunities to participate that don’t take much time. Think of it as doing a mitzvah.
- Spend time looking at the National Hadassah website, hadassah.org and learn what the organization does.
- Check out the latest medical advances at the hospital.
- Mouse over the Take Action tab.
- Look at the Advocate column and click on Action Center to email prepared letters to your congressmen and senators.
Please contact me if you would like more information or would like to volunteer. No experience is necessary and you might find you have hidden talents.
I thank you and Hadassah thanks you.
Shalom, Harriet Stein
