Hadassah Greater Pittsburgh
From our President
The opportunity to serve as President of Hadassah Greater Pittsburgh is one I love and cherish. During my time in office for the past year and a half changes have been implemented on the national as well as the local level. The biggest change nationally is the re-branding of Hadassah. The new logo and new tag line “The Power of Women Who Do” have been very well received. The National areas of focus are Advocacy, Hadassah Medical Organization and Zionism in the twenty first century. Locally we are also focusing on these areas, but are also working collaboratively with other agencies to be better known in the community. Some of the programs we have done locally are Every Beat Counts and Every Step Counts. We have worked with Susan G Komen for the Cure Foundation and with Magee Women’s Hospital for Genetic Testing. We continue to make our monthly dinners for Family House, and have visited our Hadassah members in assisted living facilities. New events like Sweet Sunday have taken place and new faces are appearing at them. There are many more new and exciting events in the planning stages that will come to fruition during the next year and a half. The biggest pleasure this past year was adding a young women’s group, Zohar. They have had numerous events that were well attended and have many others planned. We are fortunate in Pittsburgh that we have the power of women who do that we will continue to have many more years of success.
