Chai Society
Chai Society Logo

Have you heard about Chai Society, Hadassah’s newest annual giving program?

Members all over the country are choosing where they want their annual donation to go. You can change a life, give a helping hand to the most vulnerable, or support future medical miracles.

Would you consider giving $15 or $30 each month to be part of Hadassah’s Chai Society? Your generosity as an annual giver would ensure that Hadassah can continue to provide life-saving care to the people of Israel.  Especially during times when there is war or terror attacks, maintaining the state-of-the-art trauma care that Hadassah Medical Organization is known for is critically important.  While we pray for peace in Israel, we must do all we can to heal those who are ill or injured.  Your annual support would make that possible.

We hope to welcome you to Chai Society in the near future.

From our President

Tikkun Olam

As we sit writing this note, the Parkland school shooting in Florida is about a week in the past. Many of us have family and friends who are directly impacted by this disaster. One Hadassah member has a cousin who directly put himself in harm's way to save others and is undergoing multiple surgeries. Another has a friend who is a counselor in the school district and has been working with families and survivors through this tragedy. We are not helpless in the face of sorrow and despair. Hadassah NoVA is one of the places where you can find your voice. Our own Hadassah members visited Richmond last month to advocate for smarter gun laws. But there are so many causes that need our attention, here are just a few:

  • Gender equity in medical prevention, research, funding, and quality of care
  • Women's Preventive Health
  • Human Trafficking Prevention
  • Affordable Child Care

Here's a full list of Advocacy programs Hadassah provides.

Your Voice Needed: Advocacy Focus at Hadassah

NoVa Chapter What moves you to tears when you read your daily news feed? What issues are most important to you? For the Hadassah NoVa Chapter, we want to focus our efforts to have an impact. For the next few years, we would like to choose a topic and focus our advocacy and possibly some fundraising efforts toward making a positive change. Tell us at Facebook or look out for our upcoming Survey. Let's combine the power of our voices, following in our Hadassah Founder's Footsteps, to make this world a little safer and equitable. Together we can work toward Tikkun Olam.
