From women who were born in Annapolis to those who arrived last week, Annapolis Hadassah members number more than 300 strong. Multi-generational Life Members, Associate Members and annual members join together to provide strength and vitality to our Chapter. In addition to fundraising, we present outstanding programs, gather together for informal lunches, and have monthly book discussion groups.
From our President
Welcome to Hadassah Greater Washington!
105 years strong! As Hadassah members we are part of a chain of Jewish women stretching back more than a century. We find ourselves awed by Hadassah’s history of accomplishment but at the same time challenged by a new era in which we must adjust to engage more women. As Women Who DO, we will meet that challenge.
As Women for Israel, our members are drawn together by love of Israel and our understanding that we must ensure Jewish continuity. We support Hadassah Medical Organization, which is deeply rooted in the health and economic foundation of Israel. We partner with Youth Aliyah to support children-at-risk.
As Women Who Heal, we support Hadassah’s hospitals in Jerusalem, which treat patients from across the globe, regardless of race, religion, or gender. Patients at Hadassah Medical Organization receive the highest standard of care and Hadassah's pacesetting progress in research reaches around the world. In fact, several Hadassah-developed protocols are currently in FDA trials in the United States, specifically to fight ALS, MS, and macular degeneration. Wherever there is a natural disaster or act of terror around the world, Hadassah medical professionals respond.
As Women Who Advocate, we put our Jewish values into action to build a healthier, safer and more equitable world. As a proud endorser of the Research for All Act, Hadassah advocates for ensuring effective, non-discriminatory medical research. We also urge our legislators to help in the fight against Human Trafficking, a modern-day reality for an estimated 27 million people worldwide.
We welcome the efforts of our men, the Hadassah Associates of Greater Washington, to raise funds for the Hadassah Associates’ Men’s Health Initiative.
Join us today- I look forward to working together to support our community-building efforts in Israel and the United States, in healing, in advocating, and in DOING!
