Robotic Surgery Breakthrough
Aaron Schwartz is the first patient in the world to be operated on with two communicating robots operated by two orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Khoury was the lead surgeon. Schwartz was working in a building material storehouse when a ton of steel fell on him, injuring his spine and leg. He showed us that he was beginning to walk less than two weeks after the surgery.
Pictured with Aaron Schwartz is Gail Black, President, Hadassah Northern New Jersey.

From our President
Passover is the time when we get together with family and friends around the Seder table and retell the story of the Israelites' journey from slavery to freedom. We are thankful for the miracle of Passover and express our gratitude by chanting Dayenu, "It would have been enough for us." In the spirit of dayenu, we are also grateful for Hadassah's work of tikkun olam that is carried out in the following programs:
Research in Service to Humanity campaign, highlighting heart disease, multiple sclerosis, melanoma, and breast cancer
Stem cell therapy research to develop treatments and cures for diseases like age-related macular degeneration, ALS, MS, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes
Fighting anti-Semitism and BDS with learning materials developed by Hadassah and the online speaker series Defining Zionism in the 21st Century.
Advocacy for Gender Equity in Medical Research and Fighting Human Trafficking
Youth Aliyah Program, which sets at-risk children in Israel on the path to a successful future
Young Judaea, the Zionist youth movement that builds a connection to Jewish life and a love of Israel for thousands of American youth and young adults
Region and chapter events throughout the year, designed to educate and raise funds for our two hospitals in Jerusalem, our Youth Aliyah villages and to provide scholarships for Young Judaea
As we get ready to celebrate Passover with our loved ones, let's also reflect on the miraculous work of Hadassah, for more than 100 years.
Chag Sameach and a Zissen Pesach!
