From our President

Happy Passover!
Passover is the time when we get together with family and friends around the Seder table and retell the story of the Israelites' journey from slavery to freedom. We are thankful for the miracle of Passover and express our gratitude by chanting Dayenu, "It would have been enough for us." In the spirit of dayenu, we are also grateful for Hadassah's work of tikkun olam that is carried out in the following programs:
Research in Service to Humanity campaign, highlighting heart disease, multiple sclerosis, melanoma, and breast cancer
Stem cell therapy research to develop treatments and cures for diseases like age-related macular degeneration, ALS, MS, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes
Fighting anti-Semitism and BDS with learning materials developed by Hadassah and the online speaker series Defining Zionism in the 21st Century
Advocacy for Gender Equity in Medical Research Better Gun Control, Israel and Fighting Human Trafficking, anti-Semitism and Sexual Harassment
Youth Aliyah Program, which sets at-risk children in Israel on the path to a successful future
Youth Aliyah Program, which sets at-risk children in Israel on the path to a successful future
Young Judaea, the Zionist youth movement that builds a connection to Jewish life and a love of Israel for thousands of American youth and young adults
Region and chapter events throughout the year, designed to educate and raise funds for our projects
We officially kicked off the new Full Circle Campaign to keep HMO a global leader in medicine by renovating Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem's iconic "round" building as part of a broader campus redevelopment plan. The Round Building is in dire need of modernizing, and we will add two additional floors to expand the building’s capacity. Hadassah is the founder of Israel’s modern health-care system and has been tireless in maintaining the highest standards for more than 100 years. Since 1960, the population of Jerusalem has tripled, and the demands on the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) and Hadassah Hospital at the Ein Kerem campus have grown exponentially. Hadassah must respond—and we must look forward. So HMO begins, first by completely reimagining the iconic Round Building, the hospital’s original inpatient center at Ein Kerem. With this renovation and expansion, the new Round Building will be an important healing center for Israel. It will significantly advance the services in its outpatient surgery, maternity, oncology, and dermatology departments.
As we get ready to celebrate Passover with our loved ones, let's also reflect on the miraculous work of Hadassah, for more than 100 years, and look to the future with our Full Circle Campaign. It is about our compassion and healing. It is about a 360 degree vision in a changing world.
Chag Sameach and a Zissen Pesach!
