The Ketura group of women reside mainly from metro Atlanta's Northern Arc including: Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Doraville, Northeast Atlanta, East Cobb, and Buckhead. Ketura projects include Mitzvah Day, knitting and crocheting for a local women’s shelter, theater nights, cooking classes, and monthly day and evening book groups. Evening, Sunday functions and some weekdays. All Ages.
Sunday, April 8 – Mitzvah Movie Day, 3:00 p.m. at Berman Commons, 2026 Womack Road, Dunwoody. The movie will be “Fanny’s Journey,” true story of a 13-year-old girl who leads a group of 11 orphans to safety as they flee Nazi-occupied France. Kosher snacks and drinks will be served. Wednesday, April 11 at 7:15pm - Never Again, the Power of Remembering the Holocaust, Renee Kaplan, a Ketura member, is a Museum Teacher Fellow for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and frequently plans and facilitates national programs on the Holocaust. Attendees will engage in creative learning activities through film, memoirs, and primary source documents, including photographs, diary entries, propaganda posters, and maps. Knit & Crochet
Knit and Crochet: Members create pieces and also collect toiletries, women’s and children’s clothing, household items and toys for the Mary Hall Freedom House; we gather on the second Tuesday evening of each month, 7:30-9:00, at a different home each time. Hadassah members in good standing from all groups are welcome to join us. We supply yarn and can teach you, if needed; we also have some knitting needles and crochet hooks.
