How to Talk About Israel
Zionism symbol

Hadassah is often asked for advice about the appropriate way to respond to criticism of Israel from news articles, editorials, television and radio programs, speakers at public forums, and small group gatherings which frequently include individuals from multiple religious faiths. As Hadassah members and leaders, we support the democratically elected Government of Israel. We strive to understand the intricacies of the situation in the Middle East and be articulate and diplomatic advocates for Israel.

You can download a helpful guide and learn how to respond to challenging questions about Israel by going to “My Hadassah” and searching for “How to Talk about Israel” under Zionist Education.

On April 14, we were joined at brunch by Marc Shuster, MD, Director of Stem Cell Transplantation at Stony Brook University. Thank you to our hosts, JoAnne and Mark Shapiro.

Women's Seder 2019

April 15, 2019

This April, we celebrated Passover at our Women's' Seder with members of Temple Beth Torah. Ellen Hershkin, Hadassah National President, spoke to an over flowing audience about achievements at Hadassah Hospital related to diversity issues. We also heard from Rabbis Moskowitz, Weisenberg and Applebaum on the topic of Gender Identity and the Jewish journey. Our Seder, with it's innovative Haggadah and delicious meal was followed by music and dancing to enhance our lively event.

Stem Cell walk

Sunday in the Park 2019

May 5, 2019

On Sunday, May 5, 2019, Suffolk Region of Hadassah held our 6th annual walk to raise money for stem cell research. Our event was held at the Dix Hills Park on Vanderbilt Pkwy, Dix Hills. Despite the rain, we had a good turnout, the band played on, people sang and danced in the rain and we all had smiles on. Of course, we were glad to have raised a good amount of money for a worthy cause.
