Philanthropists Meet Hadassah in Aspen
Karen Davidson hosted a special evening at her home on August 4th to introduce a group of distinguished philanthropists to the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower, Hadassah's new in-patient facility currently under construction in Jerusalem. Guests from the Aspen community, other parts of the United States and abroad attended the event.

President Shimon Peres hosted Hadassah national president, Marcie Natan,
and immediate past president, Nancy Falchuk, today at Beit Hanassi (the
president’s residence) in honor of Hadassah’s centennial year and to pass on a
“Birkat HaDerech” (Blessing for the Road) for the future of the organization.

For the 63rd year, Young Judaea Year Course opened with the powerful message, “Year Course is not a Year Off, it’s a Year ON!” 260 Young Judaeans, FZYniks, Israeli Scouts, and many enthusiastic staff gathered on the grass at Bet Ar-El, their Jerusalem campus and welcomed the new year with the sound of shofar blasts, song, dance and heartfelt speeches.

Hadassah National President Meets With Israel’s Minister of Health
Hadassah National President Marcie Natan today met with Israel’s Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman to discuss current health issues in Israel. Hadassah Medical Organization Chair Joyce Rabin was also part of the meeting.
Poignant Art Exhibition at Hadassah Hospital
Sa'ad El-Kikh, from the village of Tsurif near Hebron, had an accident at work 18 months ago that mangled his hand. Hadassah’s Dr. Carole Pidhorz saved his hand and reattached the palm.

Prescriptions For Marijuana For Pain Relief Expected To Continue To Rise
The number of authorizations for medical marijuana could reach as high as 40,000 in the next five years, predicted Dr. Elyad Davidson of Hadassah’s Pain Management Clinic. In the past two years alone, he reported, about 6,000 patients a year have requested and received marijuana for medical purposes.

The 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution tore down the last formal barrier to women's enfranchisement in our Nation and empowered America's women to have their voices heard in the halls of power. This Amendment became law only after decades of work by committed trailblazers who fought to extend the right to vote to women across America. For the women who fought for this right, voting was not the end of the journey for equality, but the beginning of a new era in the advancement of our Union.

Arab media, in general, does not like to write positively about Israel. Saudi-Arabian media is not considered to be the most open and liberal, even within the Arab world.
