Hadassah Participates in JCPA Plenum and Leads the Way in Passage of Breast Cancer Resolution
On February 20-23, Hadassah joined hundreds of Jewish leaders from across the United States at the 2010 Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) Plenum in Dallas, Texas. The theme of the plenum was “B’Yachad: Building Bridges – Acting Together”, which highlights working together and building relationships with friends in the Jewish community and beyond. (January 20) Israel was among the first responders to the crisis in Haiti last week, sending IDF rescue troops and medical personnel from Hadassah and other hospitals within days of the devastating earthquake. Because of Israel’s long experience with bombs and terror attacks, the army and medical community are expert at handling emergency rescue and medical crises.

Monique Benzaquen of San Juan, Puerto Rico wants to be a pastry chef when she grows up. So she combined her love of Israel with her love of cooking and signed up for the Culinary Track of Hadassah's Young Judaea Year Course. On August 2nd we sent out a report about a marathon of organ transplantations which took place in the last few weeks. Two hearts, two livers and one kidney had been transplanted at the Hadassah hospital at Ein Kerem in the course of 48 hours. Date: 10/12/2009
