June Walker, former National President of Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, from 2003 – 2007, has passed away after a long illness.

Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, this week passed a resolution calling upon all nations to make the elimination of the trafficking of women a priority by strengthening anti-trafficking legislation, sharing information, aggressively prosecuting traffickers, and mounting public information campaigns.

Hadassah Pathologist Finds Anti-Inflamatory Drugs Effective In Preventing Liver Cancer
Anti-inflammatory drugs may be effective tools in preventing liver cancer, according to researchers at Hadassah Medical Center in the Ein Kerem suburb of Jerusalem and the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School. The findings have been released today on the prestigious scientific journal Nature Web site, in the “Advanced On-Line Publication” site, prior to publication in a future issue of Nature.

The Senate passed identical legislation in 2003 and had President Bush’s support, but the House of Representatives failed to act and the bill died when the last Congress adjourned.
