Celebrating Heart Awareness Month in New England

Valerie Lowenstein, national health chair.

Just in time for the national heart health awareness month, the Hingham Chapter of the Southern New England Region invited National Health Chair, Valerie Lowenstein.

In her inspiring presentation Valerie introduced the new partnership between Hadassah and the Sister To Sister foundation that is brought to raise awareness that heart disease is the number one cause of deaths amongst U.S. women.

Valerie explained how The Smart for the Heart, an online wellness program, launched by Sister to Sister in partnership with Brigham and Women's Hospital, can evaluate the risk for heart disease and provides specific recommendations and resources to address it.

Every one of the women attended received a goodie bag full with a health awareness kit, to benefit from at home and to spread the words with friends and family.
