The Greater Atlanta Hadassah chapter of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, has received a $10,000 grant from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation in recognition of financial representative Rita Loventhal’s outstanding volunteer commitment, as part of the company’s 17th annual national Community Service Award program.

Arab media, in general, does not like to write positively about Israel. Saudi-Arabian media is not considered to be the most open and liberal, even within the Arab world. WAYS – New Hadassah Biotech/Community Outreach Initiative
Hadasit - the Technology Transfer Company of Hadassah Medical Organization has launched in Afula last Friday WAYS, an incubator for joint Jewish-Arab biomed ventures in Northern Israel. WAYS is a joint venture with a group of investors and business people from the region.
Petition Against a Unilaterally Declared Palestine
Hadassah continues its support of the Community Response to Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) by co-sponsoring the Israel Action Network's online Petition Against a Unilaterally Declared Palestine . The petition calls upon the 193 Members of the United Nations to vote against endorsing a unilaterally declared Palestinian state and to promote the resumption of bilateral negotiations.

Final Attempt to Renew Mid-East Peace Talks
The Middle East Quartet— the U.S., European Union, United Nations and Russia—are meeting today in a final effort to restart direct peace talks between the Israelis and Palestinians. The Quartet affirmed in a statement on July 2 its support for direct negotiations before any declaration of Palestinian statehood. The Palestinian Authority has until July 15 to file papers with the United Nations if they plan to seek recognition by the U.N. General Assembly this fall.

NEW YORK – Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, will host its final national business meeting before entering its centennial year, at the Palazzo in Las Vegas from the evening of Monday, July 11, through Wednesday, July 13. More than 400 national board members, delegates, associates (men supporters of Hadassah's work) and guests will gather as Hadassah celebrates achievements in membership recruitment and fundraising for a state-of-the-art medical tower under construction at its hospital in Jerusalem.
