Miss Szold's absorption in the Youth Aliyah did not divert her attention from the needs of children born in Palestine or brought there by immigrant parents. She regarded the problem from the vantage point - disadvantage would be more accurate - of her social service directorship in the Va’ad Leumi and its meager resources. Urge Your Senator to Support Rescinding the Goldstone Report
In a Washington Post op-ed, Judge Richard Goldstone, chair of the Goldstone Report on the 2008-2009 Gaza war, retracted the essential findings of that report. Judge Goldstone clarifies, "Unlike Hamas, Israel did not intentionally, as a matter of policy, target civilians in its 2008-2009 war to stop indiscriminate rocket attacks from Gaza." The JCPA, of which Hadassah is a member organization, welcomed Judge Goldstone's disavowal of the 2009 UN Human Rights Council-sponsored Commission Report bearing his name.  Date: 4/14/2011

Baltimore resident Marlene Greenebaum knows full well how a diagnosis of breast cancer and the subsequent treatment impacts a woman’s life and the lives of her loved ones. She and her husband, Stewart, also know that the earlier the diagnosis and intervention, the better chance of survival, which is why they have been the moving force behind the creation of the Multidisciplinary Breast Center at the Hadassah University Medical Center that bears her name.
