Dear Members of Hadassah:
It is our pleasure to represent you as presidents of your Birmingham Chapter of Hadassah. We are so excited to be part of this wonderful centennial year -- yes Hadassah turns 100, and we hope to celebrate all year long!
Our chapter is so enthusiastic. We have a team in place of talented and highly motivated women who strive to bring exciting and rewarding programming to our Birmingham members. Please review all our upcoming events and plan to join us as we enrich our lives with the experience of Hadassah.
This year culminates with a convention in October, 2012 in Jerusalem, joining Hadassah women from all over the world to dedicate the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower at Hadassah Medical Center. This striking facility will unite advanced medical technologies with a profound spirit of healing.
It is a 19-story structure (five floors below ground and 14 floors above ground) with 500 beds, 20 operating rooms, a 60 intensive care beds and the ultra-modern Heart Institute. Who knew when in 1912 Henrietta Szold started Hadassah from a Jewish women's study group that a dedicated, volunteer Jewish women's organization could do so much?
How exciting is it to belong to an organization that puts medical excellence on the map in the Middle East? Yes, you are a part of making this dream come true. Your contributions helped to make the Tower a reality.
Thank you for your support of Hadassah. We look forward to seeing you during the year as we celebrate true Hadassah spirit!
