On Monday, December 3, members and supporters from chapters throughout the Northern New England Region of Hadassah assembled at the Phoenician Restaurant in Haverhill, MA to celebrate the installation of the new region president and her board.
Using a special Chanukah Candle lighting ceremony, National Board Member and Chair of the Attorney’s Council, Beth Aaronson, of Lynnfield, installed Carole Greenfield, of Groton, MA as the Incoming President, and Sherry Comerchero, of Haverhill, as Organization Vice President, along with the new members of the Executive Board.
Dana Fine led the singing of Hatikva and the Star Spangled Banner followed by a welcome and invocation offered by Phyllis Berlow and motzi by Betty Shapiro, both members of Hadassah’s National Board. The festivities closed with entertainment and a sing-a-long led by musician Lisa Marcus-Jones, a member of the Nashoba Valley Chapter.
Over 40 members enjoyed the event, including past region presidents AnnKazer, Sandy Rose,Beth Aaronson, Tina Kaplan,Phyllis Berlowand Betty Shapiro. Maddy Donoff, HNE resource chair, andKathy Hershfield, national keeper’s chair, also attended.
The new board members include Harriet Wollman, recording secretary; Yona Carmichael, treasurer;Phyllis Berlow, Kathy Kerstein and Sonia Mirkin, Rhonda Saunders and Sondra Finegold, , Betty Shapiro andBeth Aaronson, area vice presidents. Dana Fine is education chair, Betty Shapiro,Amy Garbisand Amy Sebell are fundraising chairs. Carolyn Leshin is associates chair; Amy Degen is health chair; Rachel Gulick is social media chair; Sandra Rose is immediate past-president and Bobbi Braverman is the historian. The service committee consists of Jen Jutras, Rachel Calow-Diamond Naomi Kielar and Rachel Ades, Alisa Himelfarb and Gail Wolfe.
