Game Night!

On September 7th at 6:30 we will be meeting at Beth Shalom Synagogue for another Pushkah Game Night.We love sharing and learning new games, snacks and company. So come join us and we may even bring out that Karaoke Machine.

Elizabeth Brown-Guillroy's "La Bakair"

Join us for the “I Hate Mondays Girl’s Night Out Dutch Treat Date” September 22.We will meet at 6:00pm at the Capital Grill for a “Dutch Treat” dinner and then over to the new Hartley/Vey Black Box inside the Manship Theatre for LaVoW’s inaugural performance of "La Bakair". Tickets are still available for $20 at Manship Theatre, http://www.manshiptheatre.org . R.S.V.P. by 5:00 pm September 22 and meet the gang over at the Grill for dinner or at the theatre for the performance.

- Elizabeth Brown-Guillroy’s “La Bakair” is about a young actress struggling to overcome her personal demons while performing her one-woman show of the life of the iconic Josephine Baker.

Sukkot Under the Stars in Baton Rouge
Mark your calendars now for
“Dinner in the Sukkah, Under the Stars”
being ­held October 12, 2014 at the home of Liz Clubb, Mitch & Abby Raynor. This is our big fundraiser for 2014, and we are planning a spectacular gourmet feast using recipes from the Jerusalem Cookbook.  Tickets will be $36 per person.  This is an event you won’t want to miss, and of course, plan to bring your spouse significant other and any other guests!

On Friday, November 14 6:30 to 8:00pm - Welcoming Shabbat with Gratitude and Awareness on Saturday, November 15 10am to 5 pm- Calling Forth the Teachings of the Torah

In this week’s Torah reading we encounter women who embody strength, vision, generosity, kindness and courage.Their lives bring forth a legacy that flows to us today.Through shared reflections and study we will explore the journeys of our ancestors and the journeys of our own lives.We will dig deeply into the wells of our own experience to discover our wisdom and strength.
