A little over a year ago, the Executive Board of the National Committee of Hadassah Associates voted to participate in the SWD Tower Room Naming opportunities. The Associates committed to raise $36,000 for the Internal Medicine, 10th Floor, East Wing, Medication Room to be named in honor of Hadassah Associates.*
The first men to respond to this initiative was a group of about 30 enthusiastic Associates and their wives traveling through Israel on the Associates Yom Ha'Atzma'ut Mission in April 2010. Walking through the new Tower building was a special highlight of the mission. The Tower construction site stood at only seven floors above ground at that time but the structure was taking shape. After leaving the site, NCHA President Joel Marks excitedly announced on the bus, "I am looking for 360 good men, each contributing at least $100, to meet the Associates room naming goal." Not only did most of the bus respond on the spot, they included donations in the names of children and grandchildren, realizing the historic opportunity.
That was the beginning and during the following year, over 400 Associates responded to ads, educational pieces and local events promoting this initiative. To date, over $40,000 has been collected for the Tower from this opportunity.
The Associates are Men with a Mission. Support Hadassah by taking advantage of the $100 Centennial Enrollment opportunity and gift friends and family now, through December 31, 2011.
*All those who participated in this initiative will have their names listed on a special Associates Website Honor Roll(currently being updated) at www.hadassah.org/associates.
