Chapters in Motion -Yehida biTenu’a
Fairfield - highly motivated leadership moved the chapter ahead by fostering outstanding membership outreach, achieving 100% of 2011 goal and 20% increase in Associates, innovative programming, and a variety of unique educational and Centennial related events.
Wepawaug – Connecticut Valley – West Rock – continued success in energizing and moving the chapter ahead by providing excellence in monthly innovative programming with special focus on the Centennial and women’s health. Their outstanding bulletin serves to inform on the entire spectrum of Hadassah and related projects and issues. They also achieved 20% increase in Associates.
Manchester - continued success with innovation and all around excellence in program, education, membership and fundraising, having achieved 125% membership (largest in Region) and 100% fundraising goal - earning $1500 Centennial brick- and 20% increase in Associates, superior bulletins with excellent educational content, and significant participation and support of Region-wide events.
Stamford - continued success by cultivation of successful fundraising ($5000 over goal, earning a $5000 Centennial brick) with a wide variety of vibrant program, education, outreach efforts including Ivrit L'Hadassah and participation in collaborative community healthcare education efforts and commemorative events. The thriving Tea@2 community service project at Stamford Hospital continues to provide a respite of normalcy for acutely ill oncology patients, their family members, caregivers and staff and garnishes significant community wide acclaim.
Norwalk - continued success in generation of abundant and diverse programming and topical, cutting edge education efforts. Achieved largest % of any chapter in the Region by attaining172% of FR goal - and earned $5000 Centennial brick- by use of varied efforts including continuous cultivation of long-term financial supporters.
Centennial Legacy - Greater Hartford - for outstanding focus on Hadassah’s Centennial, they created “Chai Tea” - a multi-faceted celebration that encompassed education, historical legacy, media coverage and community awareness. National President Marcie Natan’s visit, attended by LT Governor Nancy Wyman presenting the Governor’s proclamation, garnered significant local and statewide press coverage and national coverage via the Hadassah JTA briefing. At the same time they exceeded their FR goal by $5000 to earn Centennial brick. They reached 100% membership goal and continued to excel in monthly programming and, community service - and all they do is chronicled in their excellent bulletins. They are what Hadassah is all about.
Henrietta Szold - Eastern CT- for the best overall “Celebration” of Hadassah’s Centennial with a comprehensive and innovative, year-long focus that encompassed programming, education, fundraising, community awareness and media. They began with a Centennial kick-off event, several ongoing events, including Home Sweet Hadassah and will culminate this Sunday with major fundraiser featuring Nancy Falchuk . They organized the Region’s largest participation in National’s Temple Emanuel commemoration. They contributed monthly Centennial highlights to the local press and submitted two winning entries to “Thin Threads”. And they achieved all this while successfully merging the former New London and Norwich Chapters into what is now called Eastern CT Hadassah. They exemplify the best of Hadassah.
