To end a summer of fun and education with good deeds, Young Judaea's leadership Machon and Discovery participants spent a day entertaining the sick children at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.

Some dressed as clowns, others played ball, still others did arts and crafts with the little boys and girls who have broken limbs or long-term treatment for cancer. The lobby of the Bloomberg Mother and Child Center was transformed into a colorful carnival.

The visit also including touring of the Swartz Center for Emergency Medicine, viewing of the Chagall Windows and a visit to the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower, about to be dedicated in October.

They heard true life stories of other young people whose lives had been saved in the hospital. An option of supporting one of the hospital clowns for a year was presented to the group for consideration as an on-going Young Judaea project.

The group of 120 entered the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower through the new Menda Promenade, donated by the family of the very proud Melissa Menda of Machon 1. The Mendas live in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
