Get Out and Vote!

Hadassah—founded during the height of the women's suffrage movement—has long standing positions not only encouraging voting by all in a bipartisan way, but opposing all barriers. The women's suffrage movement in the United States influenced and inspired Hadassah's leaders and policies. Henrietta Szold's sister Rachel S. Jastrow—founder of the Hadassah's second chapter in 1914 and a liaison to the Wisconsin Legislature for the Women's Suffrage Movement—was instrumental in helping Wisconsin become the first state to ratify women's right to vote.

As the November elections approach, now is the perfect time for Hadassah Members, Associates, and supporters to educate themselves about Hadassah's history and commitment to civic participation. Share Hadassah's Policy Statements and discuss issues important locally, to women and the Jewish community. Become engaged in your neighborhoods—attend town hall meetings, participate in voter registration drives, or volunteer to drive voters to the polls.

Participating in a local event as a unit? Wear your Hadassah t-shirts, take photos, and promote your activities in hCoast-to-Coast.
