Left to Right: Dr. Jessica Kahn, Carol Ann Schwartz, Dr. Shelley Negari, their four children and Amit Negari.
Hadassah Medical Center Doctor, Dr. Shelly Negari and her husband, Amit, were welcomed to Cincinnati along with their four children this past week by Hadassah National Board member, Carol Ann Schwartz, along with Cincinnati Children's specialist, Dr. Jessica Kahn.
They moved to Cincinnati in August so that Shelly can be a medical Fellow at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and work with Dr. Jessica Kahn, in Pediatric Adolescent Care.
Dr. Negari's Fellowship is a continuing part of the partnership between Hadassah Medical Organization and the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She will be in Cincinnati for three (3) years. The Adolescent Medicine Department at Cincinnati Children's focuses on the transition period between childhood and adulthood. It is a normal developmental period filled with major changes in physical maturity and sexuality, cognitive processes (ways of thinking and thought content), emotional feelings and relationships with others. Addressing the healthcare needs of this age group requires not only addressing identified health concerns, but also considering the complicated interactions of developmental changes on healthcare needs, the effectiveness of treatment, health education and health promotion.
The Israel Exchange Program of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center recognizes that Israel is a global leader in research, innovation and technology. Cincinnati Children's is a leader in delivering complex pediatric care and breakthrough research. Working as partners, both Hospitals can improve clinical care for children around the world, more expertly train scientists and pediatric providers and make research and technological advances that benefit the globe.
Cincinnati Children's will have other Hadassah Medical Organization staff visit throughout the year for short term visits. The community will be invited to parlor events to hear about the joint efforts between the two hospitals.
