Four Main Line Hadassah members were each queen for the day as they marked their 100th birthday at a recent celebration honoring their contributions to the charitable organization.
Mollie Brodsky of Wynnewood has been active in the Jewish community throughout the years. She is a life member of Hadassah andwas president of a B'nai Brith chapter.
For years, Anne Sherman of Wynnewood sold Hadassah greeting cards, raising thousands of dollars for the Delaware County group. She also served as Sisterhood president at Beth El Beth Hillel in Wynnewood. At 100 years old, she is still an avid bridge player.
Reba Swinger of Philadelphia has been a member of Hadassah for more than 63 years. As a member of the Wynnefield Group, she served as chair of hospitality, membership, donor giving, treasurer and president. She regularly attends Sabbath services at Har Zion temple in Penn Valley, where she is a member of the ShulStitchers. An avid reader who keeps up with current events, still cooks and bakes, she has two daughters who are life members of Hadassah.
Yetta Weinberg joined Hadassah more than 80 years ago. The Wynnewood resident was president of the West Philadelphia group for more than five years, followed by board and committee positions with Hadassah of Greater Philadelphia. She later became active in the Main Line group and was honored for her membership efforts. She is an active member of Adath Israel synagogue in Merion Station. For her 100th birthday, she requested contributions to Hadassah in lieu of gifts. She has two nieces who also are active in Hadassah, one of whom is a life member.
