Yesterday, in the presence of donors from abroad, Hadassah National President Nancy Falchuk and participants in the 2009-2010 Young Judaea Year Course cut the ribbon at the dedication of Beit Ar-El, the new Young Judaea Center for Youth and Education in the Baka neighborhood of Jerusalem. Hadassah recently decided to consolidate its post-high school Young Judaea Year Course, post-university Hadassah-WUJS, and center for young immigrants Merkaz Hamagshimim-Hadassah in a single, downtown neighborhood. Said Falchuk "What could be better than living in this vibrant, friendly neighborhood and being able to walk everywhere? We're sure our participants will fall in love with Jerusalem. Beit Ar-El will be the center of all these activities and we'll be able to share beautiful facilities, talented teachers and special events." The program was chaired by Young Judaea Chair Shelley Sherman, and speakers included former Director of Hillel Avraham Infeld and Young Judaea Israel Director Dan Krakow.
