Major donors from the Florida Atlantic Region.
On Sunday, February 24, when the world was watching the Academy Awards on television, more than 150 major donors from the Florida Atlantic and Florida Broward Regions of Hadassah were at B'nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton listening to Dr. Noam Shussman, a young doctor from Hadassah Medical Organization and Mr. Stewart Greenberg, an attorney from Miami who is currently being treated for melanoma at Hadassah.
Dr. Shussman gave an overview of Hadassah Medical Complex, focusing on the new Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower and the modern techniques used in his Department of Colorectal Surgery.
Mr. Greenberg shared his journey. His prognosis had little hope for treatment or survival until a friend - who is a Hadassah member - found out about a trial being conducted at Hadassah Hospital. He fit the profile for the trial and was able to travel to Israel and remain there for several months.
Stewart's compelling story moved everyone in the room. And the fundraising results of close to $300,000 in new pledges supporting HMO speak for themselves.
Congratulations go to Co-chairs Sheryl Davidoff from the Florida Atlantic Region and Sheila Magerman from Florida Broward. Extra thanks to Florida Atlantic Region President Joan Baron and Florida Broward Region President Merna Shapiro, ADC Chair Adele Greenblatt and the committee.
