Hadassah Calls for Compassion for Pollard

Hadassah joins the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations in their call for humanitarian compassion to allow Jonathan Pollard to attend the funeral of his father, who passed away on Sunday.

Richard Stone, Chairman, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman, of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations called on the Administration to act immediately.

"We had appealed earlier to the Bureau of Prisons to allow Jonathan Pollard compassionate leave to visit his father whom he has not seen in many years and who was then in dire condition. We regret this was not done but ask now that he be allowed to attend the funeral of his father. His mother passed away 10 years ago and he was not allowed to attend her funeral. We see this as a purely humanitarian issue and hope that swift action will be taken to allow his attendance," said Stone and Hoenlein.
