On Sunday, May 6, the Nassau Region of Hadassah held a Walk-a-thon for Stem Cell Research. Over 400 members, family and friends of the Nassau Chapters participated in the event, which took place in different locations throughout Long Island.
Sarah Tract, a ninth grade student at Jericho High School, raised $1,500 thanks to the support of her family and friends. Through her mother, Sharon Tract, past president of the Roslyn Chapter, Sarah knows that Hadassah members have been advocates for stem cell research at the state and federal levels for more than a decade.
Monies from the walk-a-thon will help advance the research at the Hadassah Medical Organization in Israel, whose scientists are pioneers in the field.
