The Glencoe/Northbrook/Winnetka Groups in the North Shore Chapter of Hadassah held their Opening Membership Luncheon on September 20 at the Arboretum Club in Buffalo Grove. Marvin Dickman presented the special program entitled "Timeless Laughter-Radio Days" that featured Jack Benny, Amos & Andy and other old favorites. The event benefited stem cell research at Hadassah Medical Organization.

The Morton Grove Group in the North Shore Chapter hosted a Welcoming Luncheon on September 19 at the Chateau Ritz in Niles. Members enjoyed meeting their friends while listening to the beautiful voice of Maureen Christine presenting "Blue Skies and Broadway."
North Shore's Nehara and Aviva/Lilah Groups
North Shore's Nehara and Aviva/Lilah Groups sponsored a Road Rally on September 8, followed by a dinner. Proceeds went to stem cell research at Hadassah Hospital.
Wilmette Group of Hadassah North Shore
The Wilmette Group of Hadassah North Shore held its opening membership luncheon on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in Skokie IL. The guest speaker was Hedy Weiss, a theatre critic for the Sun-Times Newspaper, contributor to "Chicago Tonight" on WTTW Channel 11 and WGN radio, a contributing editor to Dance Magazine and a member of the Pulitzer Prize Panel for Drama. She spoke about her extensive travels in Europe covering major news events. Proceeds from the event benefited Hadassah Medical Organization.
Portland Chapter of Hadassah
On Sunday September 9, the Portland Chapter of Hadassah celebrated Hadassah's 100 years as a partner with Israel at the Maine Jewish Museum /Etz Chaim Synagogue. Participants explored Maine's Jewish history and listened to Phil Levinsky, a local storyteller, recall anecdotes of early Portland families. The group also shared Hadassah stories of the past.
Sabra Hadassah in Sarasota, FL
Sabra Hadassah in Sarasota, FL recently explored the life of Marc Chagall: The Man & Artist Behind the Famed Windows. Guest speaker Sandi Kligmna spoke about Chagall's early life and later years, the other set of windows he created that are on display in the U.S. and about the special techniques he used to color glass. The group also learned how his granddaughter is collaborating with Hadassah today.
Westfield Chapter of Hadassah
The Westfield Chapter of Hadassah held its opening meeting on Monday, September 10 at Temple Emanu-El in Westfield, New Jersey. Alice Golembo, a resident of Westfield, the grand-niece of former Prime Minister of Israel, Golda Meir, was the featured speaker. Golembo lived with her great-aunt in the Prime Minister's residence from 1972 until 1973. She spoke about Golda Meir with a combination of humor, information and personal insight into the private life of Israel's only female prime minister. Golembo was intimately involved in the Broadway play 'Golda,' both as an actress and as a consultant to the playwright.
