Zichronam Livracha:
For Their Memory Shall be a Blessing

In response to the tragic events at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Hadassah launched a campaign to plant trees in the Be'er Sheva River Park. Hadassah has raised over $66,000 for the planting of 3,700 trees and counting. . National President Marcie Natan planted the first one.

The Hadassah community has also spoken out for gun control and improved mental health services, in order to help prevent further tragedies such as these. Hadassah encourages its members, associates and supporters to visit the Hadassah National Action Center and the Zichronam Livracha petition, of which Hadassah is a sponsor.

January is National Cervical Health Awareness Month

The Hadassah Foundation Celebrating Its Bat Mitzvah Year

To celebrate 13 years of grant making in support of empowering Jewish girls and young women, in 2012 The Hadassah Foundation awarded 13 Bat Mitzvah Mini Grants and held a December symposium with a panel of leaders from diverse organizations.


Camp Tel Yehuda: Hitting the Target

The Havurah program of Young Judaea's Camp Tel Yehudah was selected for the Slingshot Guide as one of the 50 most innovative and inspiring organizations in North America. From the Slingshot website: "Slingshot, A Resource Guide to Jewish Innovation, is an annual compilation of the most inspiring and innovative organizations, projects, and programs in the North American Jewish community today. First published in 2005, Slingshot continues to highlight those organizations in Jewish life with particular resonance among the next generation."


Eli Finds His Future at Youth Aliyah

Some of the children in our Youth Aliyah villages are survivors of violence and cultural dislocation. Eli, a high school senior, moved to Israel from Romania with his mother and sister when he was ten. Despite her obvious intelligence, Eli's mother, an engineer, became overwhelmed with emotional problems. They became extreme: first she beat him and, when he became old enough, he hit her back. She called the police. He was referred to Meir Shfeyah Youth Aliyah village.
