...and it's Purim!

Purim—Hadassah's birthday and a holiday always close to Hadassah's heart—is February 24th. Purim is the joyous, raucous holiday when we read the Megillah and learn how Queen Esther saved the Jews from extinction, eat hamantaschen and celebrate with noise and laughter.

Happy Purim!

We Remember
Edward I. Koch
Mayor of New York City,

Ed Koch, the Mayor with "chutzpah," was a Hadassah Associate, friend and supporter. He died February 1st at the age of 88. He was buried under a tombstone that carried epitaphs of his choosing. On the tombstone are the Shema prayer, in both Hebrew and English, and the final words of murdered Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl: "My father is Jewish. My mother is Jewish. I am Jewish."
