Hadassah Attorneys at the High Court

Members of Hadassah's National Attorneys' Council were sworn in before the nine Justices of the United States Supreme Court, February 24 & 25. One group of attorneys enjoyed a meeting with Justice Elena Kagan; the second group met with Justice Stephen Breyer and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (a Life Member of Hadassah). The Swearing In program, now in its 15th year, is strictly limited to 12 participants per day.

Hadassah Medical Organization Recovery

Now Accepting Submissions  for Ribalow Prize for Fiction
The Harold U. Ribalow prize is an annual fiction award presented for an outstanding English-language work of fiction on a Jewish theme by an author deserving of further recognition. The deadline for submissions is April 20, 2014.

National Nutrition Month

Heart disease is the leading cause of death among American women, but up to 82% of heart disease can be prevented. Nutrition is a vital factor in that equation, and an important part of Every Beat Counts: Hadassah's Heart Health Program. Besides eating fruits and vegetables, eating breakfast and sharing family dinners, rather than eating on the run, have been shown to help control obesity, a major factor in heart disease.

Thirty Hadassah members visited the U.S. Mission to the United Nations on February 25 and learned about some of the worldwide issues identified by the UN as critical.


WUJS: Israel Program for College Grads
Young Judaea's WUJS is a five-month immersion program in Israel for college graduates, 21-35 years old. WUJS provides long-term opportunities to combine study, volunteering and professional internships. Read participant Allie Friedman's experience interning at the Jerusalem Post.
