Grateful Vacationer/Patient Praises Hadassah’s Center for Emergency Medicine

A visitor to Israel, after suffering a miscarriage in the middle of the night, shared her gratitude for the excellent care she received in Hadassah's Judy and Sidney Swartz Center for Emergency Medicine. Click here to read her testimonial.

"I am not a citizen of Israel, but rather a citizen of the United States who had just arrived for a vacation trip the night before with my husband and friends on December 27. I arrived at the ER of the Hadassah Medical Center experiencing a miscarriage of our fourth child at 11 weeks of pregnancy.

It was a heartbreaking and devastating experience as I had never experienced a miscarriage in the past and have three healthy children. Not only was it devastating, but traumatic to have it in a foreign country at the start of a vacation. What brought peace to this event was a very special nurse that took care of me until it was time for my D and C surgery. This person was Ayelet Raab.

Ms. Raab took the time to talk with me and provided a bedside manner that was so comforting during such a difficult situation. She brought with her a sense of humor that brought joy even in the tears. She was completely professional and I felt so incredibly well taken care of. She brought comforting and encouraging words, both to me and my husband, when we needed to hear them and brought smiles when the mood needed to be lifted in the room. Meeting Ayelet was a true blessing and she is a nurse for whom I will be forever thankful and grateful to have served me in the way she did.

She is a blessing to the hospital with her level of professionalism and peaceful bedside manner, especially in a department as traumatic as the ER. I felt like I had a friend who I had known for years taking care of me.

Please accept this letter of recommendation on behalf of our family. I will forever remember her and the wonderful care I received while at Hadassah-Ein Kerem. From Ayelet, to the Operating Room nurse, to the Operating doctor; they were all amazing. Israel holds a special place in our family's heart. This trip for us was a scouting trip, and we were so thankful that the recovery was speedy and I was back on my feet within 24 hours. We know it is not a matter of if we will return, but a matter of when. And when we return if we should ever have a medical need, the Hadassah Medical Center at Ein Kerem will be our first choice." --Rana Herman < /p>Date: 2/15/2012

Although 2012 has been “a year full of challenges for the life science industry,” says Einat Zisman, Hadasit’s Chief Executive Officer, Hadasit still signed 125 agreements for clinical trials, all to be done at Hadassah.
