Countdown: About a Month Until Moving-In Day

Prof. Dov Podeh, in a 5th Floor Treatment Room

"The Urology Department is privileged to be the first department to move into the new Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower," notes Prof. Dov Podeh, Chair of the Department. "We are meticulously preparing for the move so that it will be as perfect as possible and will create minimal disruption for our patients," he says.

Prof. Podeh recalls: "I have worked at Hadassah for over 40 years. From my time as a medical student in the 70s, to working around the clock as a resident in the Surgical Department, throughout my specialization as a urologist, I have lived and breathed Hadassah. I have been the head of the Urology Department for the past 20 years and have watched with pride and awe as Hadassah has changed and developed over four decades--always maintaining its place at the forefront of medicine in Israel, and as a pioneer in introducing the latest medical developments and advanced technologies."

Hadassah's urologists, Prof. Podeh reports, lead the way in Israel in endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery. The new Tower, he says, will improve the hospitalization experience for Hadassah's patients in a multi-faceted way-- from the spacious, comfortable rooms to the state-of-the-art operating rooms to the new, sophisticated technology that will decrease surgical and recuperation time.
