Ruth Jatkoff

In 1991, I was a delegate to the Hadassah Convention in Israel representing the Upstate NY Region.

One evening, after a program at Masada, we were asked "Who wants to go on a special trip? Curious, I volunteered!

We were whisked to Ben Gurion airport, on to the tarmac and there, Israeli flags in hand, greeted a plane load of Russian olim. The first person off, a very old man, kissed the tarmac. The second to deplane was a young woman, baby in her arms. It was easily, the most memorable, emotional event of our trip that year!
