A delegation of French parliamentarians recently visited Hadassah-Ein Kerem where Prof. Azaria Rein, Head of the Dept. of Pediatric Cardiology, briefed them on A Heart for Peace, which he founded and heads. This humanitarian initiative brings together Israeli and Palestinian doctors to help Palestinian children with serious heart conditions. Working with Palestinian doctor Salim Ibrahim at Hadassah, they have performed hundreds of heart surgeries for Palestinian children who would not otherwise have been saved. Pictured in the Charlotte R. Bloomberg Mother and Child Center are, from left: National Assembly Member Valérie Boyer; Isabelle Stroweis, Hadassah Dept. of External Relations; National Assembly Member Eric Raoult; National Assembly Member Richard Mallié; National Assembly Member Claude Goasguen; Prof. Azaria Rein; National Assembly Member Guy Teissier; Jean Clement Menet, Candidate for the National Assembly; and National Assembly Member Marc Roubaud. Their visit was sponsored by Project Interchange, an educational institute of the American Jewish Committee, and arranged by Hadassah's Influentials to Israel Program.
