General Surgery B Moves in The Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower
When Brenda Godfrey and her husband decided to make Aliya some 35 years ago, the UK born couple already had two grown up daughters. They packed their things into 12 suitcases, gave them to their daughters and said they will meet them in Israel. While the daughters flew with the baggage, the parents drove from London through France and Italy to Naples. From there they crossed the Mediterranean on a ship with their car to Haifa port, and drove again to the absorption center in Mevaseret Zion – their first home in Israel.
"Making Aliya and living in Israel since, are the best things that happened to me" says Brenda. She was telling her story yesterday morning while she, and another 20 patients of the department of general surgery B were preparing to move from the 7th floor of the old "round building" to the new department on the 6th floor in the Sarah Wetsman Dasvidson Hospital Tower. Brenda is recovering from recent surgery and has nothing but praises for Hadassah – the entire staff of the department, nurses, physicians, secretaries, and especially her two surgeons Dr. Almogy and Dr. Abu-Ghazallah. "Hadassah is fantastic" she says. "The way they work here is phenomenal. It is an incredible system I have only admiration for Hadassah. " She thought that her old room was "pretty cramped, to say the least", and the new one was "wonderful".
