February 24-March 2 is the 10th Annual Israeli Apartheid Week in the United States, which will feature anti-Israel events, film screenings, and Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) initiatives on college campuses and in communities throughout the country.
The rationale for the BDS movement against Israel is based on generalities—many of them uninformed—about how different populations live, work, study, and co-exist in the region. In reality, Jews and Arabs, Israelis and Palestinians, collaborate and cooperate on a daily basis in a hundred arenas. At Hadassah Medical Organization, Jews and Arabs work side by side; patients are treated without regard to race, religion, or nationality; and there are numerous partnerships between Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO), Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School, and Palestinian hospitals and health organizations.
Hadassah is a staunch advocate against the BDS movement, which aims to tarnish and delegitimize the State of Israel. Hadassah maintains its long-standing policy against all forms of organized boycotts—opposing destructive actions in favor of constructive dialogue in order to pursue a future of peace in the Middle East.
