HADASSAH’S ATTORNEYS COUNCIL OFFERS OPPORTUNITY FOR SWEARING-IN AT U.S. SUPREME COURT IN NATION’S CAPITAL
(New York, NY -- November 22, 2004) -- For attorneys, a swearing-in at the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, DC is one of the most prestigious and meaningful events of their professional lives. This year, the National Attorneys’ Council of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, has secured two dates for qualified attorneys, who are also Hadassah members, to be sworn-in at the highest court in the land. In addition, participants will have a choice of being hosted for a reception in the private chambers of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor or Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who happens to be a Hadassah life member.
Participants may choose to be sworn-in on either March 21 or March 22, 2005 and while at the Supreme Court also have the opportunity to hear two oral arguments and to dine in the Law Clerks’ Dining Room. The 24-hour whirlwind trip will kick off with a gala dinner with keynote speaker Dahlia Lithwick, a senior editor for Slate and guest columnist for The New York Times, and close with a briefing by Eli Rosenbaum, Director of the Office of Special Investigations Criminal Division at the U.S.Department of Justice.
Interested individuals may choose Package A, which takes place from March 21-22, or Package B, which runs March 22-23, and are allowed to bring one guest. The cost for the entire trip is $360 per person. Hotel rooms at the Marriott are available at a special Hadassah group rate of $199 per night. The Supreme Court fee is $100. This opportunity is open to both women and men, but it is necessary to be either a Hadassah member or a member of the men’s affiliate, Hadassah Associates.
