(New York, NY -- May 16, 2008) -- Nancy Falchuk, National President of Hadassah, is part of the Bush Delegation celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the State of Israel. The group includes June Walker, Chairperson of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and Immediate Past National President of Hadassah, and the Honorable Linda Lingle, Governor of the State of Hawaii and a dedicated lifetime member of Hadassah.
“I am proud to be a member of the U.S. Honorary Delegation, as this visit so concretely demonstrates the United States’ commitment to Israel and to our bilateral relationship,” Falchuk said while in Israel. “It is an honor to be a part of this delegation, to travel with President Bush and to experience the joy of the Israeli people during this monumental anniversary.”
The Bush Delegation’s visit included various receptions, several tours of historical sites, and the Presidential address to the Knesset.
Because of Hadassah’s reputation and long-standing relationship with the State of Israel, Falchuk received a special invitation from the Speaker of the Knesset, Dalia Itzik, to Bush’s address.
Falchuk will also lead Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and a bipartisan delegation of House members on a tour of Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem to visit with victims of terror attacks at the hospital. The delegation will learn from hospital officials about their world-class emergency preparedness initiatives, information that could be critical to the United States in the event of an attack.
