Hadassah Urges Nations to Pressure Terrorists to Release Israeli Soldiers
HADASSAH URGES NATIONS TO PRESSURE TERRORISTS TO RELEASE ISRAELI SOLDIERS
(New York, NY -- July 12, 2006) -- In response to the news of today’s killing of seven Israeli soldiers and kidnapping of two on Israel’s northern border, June Walker, National President of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, made the following statement:
“Our prayers are with the families of the kidnapped soldiers as we mourn the senseless loss of life of their colleagues. Hadassah and the entire Jewish community stand firmly behind Israel and its right to defend itself from premeditated and heinous acts of war.
“We urge all nations of good conscience to join U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan in strongly condemning these acts of agression against Israel. We urge the nations of the world to bring extreme pressure on these terrorist organizations and their sponsors, Syria and Iran, to bring about an immediate release of the Israeli hostages and ensure that no further acts of aggression occur against Israel.”Date: 7/12/2006 12:00:00 AM
