A Little Night Music in Chicago

It was a magical evening, blending the diverse and colorful cultures of Israel. Hadassah’s Chicago Chapter raised over $50,000 with a musical performance by Noa, one of Israel’s leading international concert and recording artists. Appearing with Noa was special guest Mira Awad, an Arab Israeli singer, songwriter and actress.

Noa — known in Israel by her given name, Achinoam Nini — was born in Tel Aviv to a Yemenite family. She lived in New York City from the age of 2 until she was 17, when she returned to Israel on her own.

The performance, pairing Israeli Jewish and Arab music, blended the melodies and voices of Israel’s distinctive mosaic. Call it “building bridges to peace through music.”
