Sunday, November 2, 2014, 10:30 am- Mark your calendar for the Richmond Hadassah General Meeting on 10:30 am, Sunday, November 2 at the Weinstein JCC. Not only will we be voting on the proposed slate of 2015 Richmond Hadassah officers, but we will have a program focusing on techniques for keeping ourselves safe. We hope to see you all there for this interesting and important meeting!

 

Sunday, November 9, 2014, 1 pm– New York Times best-selling author, journalist and screen writer, Sara Davidson has written “The December Project: an Extraordinary Rabbi and a Skeptical Seeker Confront Life’s Greatest Mystery.” In the manner of “Tuesdays with Morrie,” Reb Zalman Schecter-Shalomi addresses the fears and anxieties about mortality as we navigate the December of life. Richmond Hadassah’s Book Club will discuss the December Project on November 9 at 1 pm at the Weinstein Jewish Community Center. For further information contact Deborah Cohen at deborah.cohen@suntrust.com.

 

Wednesday, November 12, 2014, 12:30– The Richmond Chapter of Hadassah will hold a Lunch & Learnon November 12 at 12:30, discussing Feminist Social Action as our fore- daughters did it.  Welcome the Daughters of Zelophad, whose models for social action were from the days of Moses and Miriam. These second wave of feminists inspire us to challenge what needs to be changed in society.  For further information contact Julie Beck-Berman at juliefbb@aol.com or Carolyn Belgrad at cbelgrad@aol.com.

 

Wednesday, December 10, 2014, 7 pm -What better way to celebrate Chanukah with Hadassah then with a Latke Cook Off! On December 10, at 7 pm, bring your latkes to the Weinstein JCC for your friends to sample, sample the wide variety of latkes made by others, and vote on whose recipe is the best. Prizes will be awarded! For more information, or to offer assistance, please contact Fran Broeder at brookroadsouth@yahoo.com.
