Partnership with Young Judaea Shelley Sherman, coordinator, Young Judaea, cited the program’s life-changing experiences and “a shared commitment to Jewish values and the state of Israel.” She added, “Young Judaea offers an intensive exploration into the rich mixture of our people, creating a profound commitment that lasts a lifetime." Adam Jenshil, director, Young Judaea Year Course, added, “For many, their first experience (with Israel) is a student program.” He cited a Harvard report noting how participation in “gap year” programs often leads to success.
Partnership with Youth Aliyah Meir Shfeyah Youth Aliyah graduate Eli Mantson revealed to National Convention participants how Hadassah’s Youth Aliyah villages for at risk children have changed countless lives. “My dream is to help people like me and to help my community,” said Mantson, who was born in Ethiopia and raised in Israel.
JNF Partnering with Hadassah 84 Years After fires caused by Hezbollah rockets charred more than one million trees in 2006, the Jewish National Fund continues its work to turn a barren landscape green, preserve ecological balance, bring economic growth and ensure security, said Deborah Kaplan, Hadassah chair, JNF. This is a “call to action for the 21st century,” JNF CEO Russell Robinson said in a stirring appeal at the National Convention. He spoke of the dams and vital reservoirs built to combat the water crisis, the River Walk in Be’er Sheva, and the 21,000-square-foot, reinforced indoor recreation facility – the Blue Box (named after the popular JNF pushke). “We are here.
